Join St. Catherine's Center for Children for a celebration of The Wizard of Oz on Friday, April 29 at 5:30 pm at the 11 North Pearl Event Centre in downtown Albany.  The breath-taking dining hall at the Event Centre will be transformed into the Emerald City, where guests will enjoy an unforgettable dinner, and re-creations of some of their favorite sights and sounds from the film.  You will be greeted by Glinda the Good Witch as you enter Munchkinland.  Follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City.  Take the Oz Challenge, and earn a heart, a brain, and some courage to be entered into our grand prize raffle, a hot air balloon ride for two over the Adirondacks! Enjoy Albany pianist Malcolm Kogut as he entertains with songs from the film.  And listen to Lexi Rabadi, who starred as  Dorothy in a local production of The Wizard of Oz, pay tribute to Judy Garland with her version of Over the Rainbow.

      An Honorary Co-chair of our tribute to The Wizard of Oz is Albany native and author, Gregory Maguire. Gregory spent time with us here at St. Catherine's as an infant, and has become a valued supporter of our agency. He penned the best-selling novel Wicked , the book which served as the basis for the popular Broadway musical of the same name.  At the event, attendees will be able to bid on books and posters signed by Gregory, as well as other Wizard of Oz memorabilia. Don't miss this exciting opportunity!
